Ingredients: For the sauce:
4 cups of my homemade tomato sauce or store bought marinara
1 pound ground beef
1 small onion, diced
2 minced garlic cloves
1 tsp sea salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1 tsp Italian seasoning
1/4 cup grated parmesan
fresh basil leaves
- For the Spaghetti:
1 pound spaghetti, boiled in salted water and drained
1 block (8oz) cream cheese
1/2 cup sour cream
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Directions
- Make a batch of my homemade tomato sauce, and set aside 4 cups (or set aside 4 cups store bought marinara sauce)
- In a pan, brown the ground beef until almost done, then add the onion. Cook for a couple of minutes, then add the garlic, salt, pepper and seasoning.
- Pour in the tomato sauce and simmer for 5-10 minutes. Set aside.
- Meanwhile, boil the pasta for around 8 minutes. Drain and put back in the pot with the sour cream, cream cheese and a couple of ladles of the beef and tomato sauce. Mix until well and evenly coated. Do this right away, while the pasta is still hot.
- Layer half the pasta in a 9×13 baking dish. Add the tomato beef sauce, the the other half of the spaghetti evenly. Sprinkle with around 2 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese.
- Bake in a 350 degree oven for around 40 minutes, or until bubbling. If desired, broil for a couple of minutes to brown the top a bit more. Let stand for around 10 minutes. Enjoy!
