Canada Day French Toast


  • 2 eggs

  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon

  • 1 tbsp maple syrup

  • 1/2 tsp vanilla

  • 1/3 cup milk

  • butter

  • approximately 4-6 slices of white or whole wheat bread

  • Jam and extra maple syrup


  • Whisk the eggs, cinnamon, vanilla, maple syrup and milk together in a wide and shallow bowl.
  • Melt some butter in a pan. Dip each slice of bread on both sides in the egg mixture, letting excess drip off.
  • Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side.
  • For a fun Canada day breakfast, use a maple leaf cookie cutter to cut the middle of the bread out, and fill with jam if desired. Serve with extra maple syrup. Enjoy!
